The Rock Island RR (CRI&P) along with many other railroads started using older steel boxcars as depots at many small towns during the 1960's up to the present as older structures deteriorated and needed replacement.
This HO scale model kit depicts a 40 foot steel boxcar converted with an overhanging sloping roof and added windows and doors all in a small 6" x 2" area. (7" x 5" with loading dock.) Using hand poured resin and hand cast resin & pewter detail parts, this unpainted model will make a great small town depot easy to place conveniently beside the tracks! Includes our concrete (resin) loading dock (not shown). (Model built and painted by Brian Rudko.)
