The Rock Island RR (CRI&P) along with many other railroads started using low cost older steel boxcars as depots at many small towns, during the 1960's up to recent times, as older structures deteriorated and needed replacement.
This HO scale model kit depicts a 40 foot steel boxcar converted with an overhanging sloping roof and added windows and doors all in a small 6" x 2" area. (7" x 5" with included concrete loading dock.) Using hand poured resin and hand cast resin & pewter detail parts, this unpainted model will make a great small town depot easy to place conveniently beside the tracks! Includes our concrete (resin) loading dock (not shown).
