Because it's metal, the chain stays taut.

Includes chain, counter weights, and pulleys. It's a complete kit. Purchased to replace spout, etc. that came with a kit. This is hands down much better than the one that came with the kit.

I like it because it is heavy and can keep the water tank cables taut. Even more weight wouldn't hurt.
